Kazakhstan is a vast country located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. We consider this geographical characteristic to be a vital factor contributing to the strengthening of Eurasian economic ties. In this regard, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, namely the Middle Corridor, holds great significance. In the future, Kazakhstan intends to increase its cargo transportation capacity through this corridor to 20 million tons.
Sea-news.az reports that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated this during a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Emphasizing that the next objective is to effectively integrate the Middle Corridor into the European transport system, the Kazakh President noted that he called on German companies to actively implement logistics projects. “The transport and logistics terminal of the Rhenus company at the Port of Aktau could become a key project in this direction. We are also interested in strengthening the integration between Kazakhstan Railways and the Deutsche Bahn group of companies. To this end, we plan to execute concrete projects,” the President noted.
