President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier stated that the Middle Corridor could become a strategic connection between Europe and Central Asia.

Sea-news.az reports speaking at the opening of the Kazakhstan-Germany Business Forum, he recalled receiving detailed information regarding the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) during his visit to the Port of Kuryk in Kazakhstan in 2023.
According to Steinmeier, the route has the potential to turn into a strategic link connecting Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, the South Caucasus, and Europe. To achieve this, simply developing railways, highways, and ports is not enough. It is essential to establish high-capacity cargo hubs along the entire route, accelerate customs procedures, implement digital solutions, and formulate reliable regulations.
“That is precisely why the expansion of this corridor is a project of the future. Let us continue working on this,” the German President emphasized.
