Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora living in Aktau, Kazakhstan, delivered hot meals, water, and beverages for military personnel and rescuers to the Caspian coast where the search and rescue operation was underway.

Sea-news.az reports that the assistance was organized through the personal resources of diaspora members, restaurant owners, and other local entrepreneurs.

According to diaspora representative Elmir Shahsuvarov, Azerbaijanis were ready to provide all necessary support to the rescuers until the completion of search and rescue operations.

It should be noted that on September 24, military personnel lost their lives during exercises conducted by the Kazakh Naval Forces in the Mangystau region.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, a severe deterioration in weather conditions accompanied by strong winds resulted in 19 servicemen falling into the sea. The deaths of 12 servicemen were confirmed, while 3 were rescued. The search for the remaining personnel had continued.

It is worth recalling that on December 25, 2024, an AZAL aircraft flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. During the response effort, local residents worked alongside rescuers to provide assistance.
