Lentils produced in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan have been shipped to India via the infrastructure of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

Sea-news.az reports citing the National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” that the shipment was organized by the company’s subsidiary, KTZ Express.

In the first stage, the cargo was delivered by rail from the Akkol station to the port of Aktau. The containers were then transported across the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan’s port of Alat.

From the territory of Azerbaijan, the cargo was sent by rail to Georgia’s port of Poti, and from there by maritime transport to the port of Mundra in India.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan ranks 6th in the world for lentil exports. In 2025, the country’s production of leguminous crops increased by 56 percent compared to the previous year, reaching a record high of 1 million tons.
