France, in coordination with the United States, has begun drafting a UN Security Council resolution aimed at restoring shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Sea-news.az reports citing a source, that the draft would call for UN member states to jointly ensure the safety of commercial vessels while refraining from taking an offensive posture toward Iran.

French President Emmanuel Macron also said after his meeting with US President Donald Trump that diplomatic options were being discussed to allow more cargo ships and oil tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the report, the draft resolution is expected to be submitted to the UN Security Council in the near future.
