Iran has called claims regarding the US extracting 1 billion barrels of oil from the Strait of Hormuz false.
Sea-news.az reports that Iranian Armed Forces Spokesperson General Abolfazl Shekarchi stated that the statements by the US military command regarding the passage of tankers carrying 1 billion barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz over the past two months do not correspond to reality.
Citing the general, Mehr News Agency reported: “These statements are not reality, but rather a failed psychological operation by the weary forces of the terrorist American army in the region to boost morale and justify America’s heavy financial and human losses.”
Shekarchi stated that the Iranian army still controls the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Previously, US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper stated that the US military ensured the transportation of over 1 billion barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz over the past two months.
