The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that it successfully targeted and destroyed an uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) belonging to the United States near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.
Sea-news.az reports citing ydh.com.tr, that according to the official statement released by the IRGC, the unmanned maritime drone—identified by the hull number 5838—was struck after entering the strategically vital waterway.
The IRGC stated that the drone was deployed in the region as part of an “aggressive mission”. Iranian forces emphasized that the operation successfully neutralized hostile activities, reiterating that full control over the Strait of Hormuz remains in their hands. The organization also issued a stern warning that any hostile presence or movement within the strait will face decisive counter-measures.
