Britain, the US, and Norway conduct joint military exercises in the Arctic

The armed forces of the United Kingdom, the United States, and Norway have carried out joint military exercises on the remote Norwegian island of Jan Mayen as part of NATO’s “Arctic Sentry” mission.

Sea-news.az reports this, citing information released by the British Ministry of Defence.

It was stated that British military personnel were deployed to the isolated Arctic island of Jan Mayen alongside allies from Norway and the United States. The trilateral activity formed an integral part of the “Arctic Sentry” program.

The drills were conducted under the framework of Operation “Atlantic City” from August 26 to September 4.

During the exercises, the air forces, navies, special operations forces, and marine corps of the three nations utilized various sensor and communication systems to coordinate joint operations in the region.

The primary objective of the joint maneuvers was to enhance the interoperability and operational capabilities of allied forces within the complex climatic and geographical conditions of the Arctic.
