The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has attacked a U.S. remotely operated surface craft in the Strait of Hormuz.
Sea-news.az reports this, citing a statement published by the IRGC on its Telegram channel.
“The Naval Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked a vessel belonging to the American military that intended to enter the protected zone of the Strait of Hormuz,” the statement noted.
The IRGC emphasized that future U.S. actions will continue to be met with a resolute response: “The Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the IRGC, and every hostile move will receive a decisive counter-strike. America must realize that it has no other choice than to leave the region.”
To recall, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) previously carried out strikes against three Iranian tankers, attributing the action to an earlier attempt by the IRGC to strike American vessels in the region. In retaliation, the IRGC claimed to have launched attacks against three U.S. vessels and three oil tankers navigating along unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz.
