The water level in the Amur River near Russias Khabarovsk region has reached 461 cm, exceeding the adverse event threshold.

Sea-news.az reports that the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Khabarovsk Krai provided this information.

According to the report, in the central part of the city, water has already completely flooded the lower tier of the Admiral Nevelskoy embankment, and 129 dacha plots in the island areas of the city have been submerged, with access blocked.

The river has risen by 13 cm over the past 24 hours. At the same time, the water level is expected to increase by another 20-25 cm. Specialists warn that the 600 cm mark is considered dangerous for the city, at which point the evacuation of residents in the island areas will begin.

Experts expect the level of the Amur River to reach 550-600 cm by the third decade of August.

The main danger remains in the island areas. Internal streams and lakes are overflowing there, and groundwater is rising to the surface.

Rescuers, together with the city administration and other services, inspect the areas daily. The Ministry of Emergency Situations also urges residents not to stay in their dacha houses during the flood.
