Tehran possesses evidence proving that the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately launched a strike on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea.
Sea-news.az reports that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated this during a briefing. According to him, despite Kyiv’s claims that the incident occurred by accident, the Iranian side holds a different position.
According to information from the diplomatic institution, Ukrainian military personnel targeted an Iranian ship located in Russia’s territorial waters in the Caspian Sea on July 25. As a result of the attack, one crew member lost their life.
“According to Ukrainian officials, this incident was not intentional, but the available evidence shows that the attack was carried out purposefully,” Baghaei emphasized.
The MFA representative added that the Iranian leadership will take all necessary steps to hold Kyiv accountable for this incident and prevent the repetition of similar cases in the future.
