Employees of the Shamkir Line Police Station of the Water Transport Police Department, together with specialists from the Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, conducted a raid on the Kura River.
Sea-news.az reports citing the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), that during the joint measures, K. Gulmammadov, suspected of illegal fishing in the Kura River using electric current, was detained.
During the inspection, illegal fishing tools, electric batteries, a special current-boosting device, and synthetic nets, as well as illegally caught fish, were discovered and seized as material evidence from the poacher.
Investigations into the fact are ongoing at the Water Transport Police Department.
