There is a risk that the current “El Niño” climate phenomenon will reach an extreme level. This warning was issued by Australian climatologist Andrea Taschetto.

According to sea-news.az that, based on forecasts by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, the specialist stated that warming in the central Pacific Ocean will be 3 degrees higher than normal. These indicators fully meet the criteria for an extreme “El Niño”.

A. Taschetto stated that sea surface temperatures off the coast of South America are 3-4 degrees higher than normal. At the same time, changes in wind directions and the weakening of atmospheric circulation over the Pacific Ocean are further accelerating the warming process.

Experts state that the “El Niño” phenomenon will reach its peak in December 2026.
