Sometimes the true outcome of heads of states foreign visits is not visible in the signed documents, but rather on the changing geo-economic map. President Ilham Aliyevs visit to Germany should also be evaluated not merely as a diplomatic event, but as a strategic step that changes Azerbaijan’s position in the European economy.
According to sea-news.az that these views were expressed by Tahir Mirzishili, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, and a Member of Parliament.

The MP stated that at a time when the previous model of globalization is fragmenting and supply chains are being restructured, Azerbaijan has become an essential partner in Europe’s energy security. The entry of Azerbaijani gas into the market of Germany, Europe’s largest economy, is an indicator of our country’s recognition as a strategic energy supplier.
The committee member particularly emphasized that in the 21st century, technology, logistics, and innovation hold as much strategic importance as energy resources:
Cooperation with a country possessing a strong industrial ecosystem like Germany creates conditions for the influx of high technologies, knowledge, and a new production culture into Azerbaijan. The main goal is to turn energy revenues into a financial source for technological development.
Azerbaijan is no longer just a transit country; by forming logistics centers, industrial zones, and digital services around the corridor, it aims to create added value from transit.
In addition to exporting gas to Europe, bringing the wind potential of the Caspian Sea to the energy market of the future is an important investment in Azerbaijan’s future economy.
“The main message of the visit can be expressed in one sentence: Azerbaijan is no longer just an energy-exporting country. Azerbaijan is becoming an active participant in the new economic architecture connecting Europe and Asia. Strategic relations with a state like Germany further strengthen international investor confidence in our country.”
