The Armed Forces of Ukraine have conducted a drone attack on the oil tanker Nelsa, which was located at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal near the Russian port of Novorossiysk.

According to sea-news.az that following the attack, the 22-member international crew on board the tanker was immediately evacuated to a safe area by CPC tugboats. Only the captain and the chief officer remained on the vessel. There were no injuries reported during the incident.

As a result of the incident, oil loading at the terminal has been temporarily suspended. Due to a prompt response, the spillage of fuel into the sea and potential fire were prevented.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reacted sharply to the incident and issued an official statement. In the statement, this action was assessed as an unacceptable attack on the economic interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It should be noted that the CPC is the operator of a 1,500-kilometer strategic pipeline that transports Kazakh oil to the global market, established with the participation of Russia, Kazakhstan, and international companies.
