The Iranian armed forces have reopened the strategically important Strait of Hormuz for shipping. However, the passage of vessels through the aquatory will be provided in limited numbers.

According to sea-news.az Irans “Fars” news agency reported this, citing military sources.

It was stated that the number of permits issued to maritime transport for safe passage through the strait will not remain fixed. The daily passage limit will be re-determined and adjusted every day depending on the current conditions in the region, as well as logistical and security factors.

It should be noted that the partial restoration of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which is considered the main transit artery of global oil trade, is viewed as an important step toward reducing tension in the maritime shipping sector.
