The official opening ceremony of the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group has been held in Baku. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended the event.
According to sea-news.az this years meetings, which kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, have brought together heads of the Islamic world’s leading financial institutions, ministers from member countries, official dignitaries, and international experts. Within the framework of the event, discussions are scheduled on crucial topics such as global economic challenges, sustainable development, the Islamic financial system, and digital transformation.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of state highly praised Azerbaijan’s long-term and successful cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank. President Ilham Aliyev spoke about the large-scale infrastructure projects implemented in our country, the achievements made in the fields of maritime transport, logistics, and digitalization, and also emphasized the significance of the projects executed with the bank’s support.
It is worth noting that within the framework of this prestigious event hosted by Baku, a series of bilateral meetings are expected to be held and new cooperation documents signed in order to further expand economic and trade relations among the member states.
