Türkiye will send three special flights to Israel’s Ramon Airport to evacuate participants of the “Sumud” humanitarian flotilla who were detained by Israeli authorities.

The information was announced by sources within the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the statement, the flights will transport detained Turkish citizens as well as activists from other countries to Istanbul. The aircraft, with a combined capacity of more than 400 passengers, are expected to accommodate all individuals wishing to be evacuated.

The planes are scheduled to arrive at Istanbul Airport on Thursday evening.

On May 19, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that all vessels belonging to the “Sumud” flotilla had been intercepted and a total of 430 activists had been detained. Among those participating in the flotilla, 78 are Turkish citizens.
