Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency Azersu OJSC and Israel’s national water operator Mekorot Water Company have signed an agreement on providing technical consulting services within the framework of the seawater desalination project, Report informs, citing the Azersu.
At the meeting between the representatives of the sides, the Chairman of the Agency, Zaur Mikayilov, gave information about the work done in connection with the reconstruction of drinking and wastewater supply systems in Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Israeli company, Amir Lang, said that the company he represents provides 90% of the demand for drinking water in his country, and approximately 60% of the water supplied to consumers is obtained by seawater desalination.
The sides also exchanged views on future cooperation issues in the drinking water supply.
