The JICA delegation led by Mr. Suguru Miyazaki, Chief Representative of JICA office in Uzbekistan paid a visit to the Port of Baku in Alat. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the port operations and ongoing development projects in the port areas.
The JICA officials had a meeting with the operations team of the Port of Baku, during the meeting the parties discussed the activities of the port and possible business opportunities for Japanese companies in the 2nd development phase of the port.
The guest also visited the port terminals and learned about operation of vessels, cargo handling equipment, locomotives, storage and warehousing facilities, as well as the development and maintenance of port infrastructure.
