Int’l training organized by Baku Port kicks off

Today, Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, together with APEC International Training Center of Antwerp International Port, started a master class on “Strategic Planning, Business Development and Marketing,” Report informs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Baku Port Director-General Taleh Ziyadov recalled that a Memorandum of Understanding on human capital development was signed between Baku Port and Antwerp Port in January this year and the first training was held in Belgium on August 16-20. The director-general noted that the training, which is being held for the second time, is a unique opportunity for local public and private companies, and participants will be taught methods and knowledge that are widely used in Europe and meet the latest requirements. It will allow them to build their future activities more effectively.

Steffan Kassimon, Project and Planning Director and Member of the Board of the APEC Port Training Center at Antwerp International Port, who attended the event online, said that a good atmosphere of cooperation with Baku Port has already been formed and such projects are mutually beneficial.

At the same time, the participants were informed that Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC operates in close cooperation with a number of international organizations, as well as the European Union, and this year Baku Port was again awarded the EcoPorts Certificate of Port Environmental Review System (PERS) by the European Seaports Organization.

During the 4-day training, Nico Suys, Chief Business Consultant of Antwerp Port, Europe’s Second Largest Port, spoke about corporate governance, strategic planning, business development, supply chain management, finance, marketing, as well as small business development in 16 public and private companies and will provide interactive training to those responsible for medium business development.

During the training, an online meeting will be organized with the industrial and technical centers of Belgium, and the ideas of the leaders of these centers on the topics will be studied, and discussions will be held using more than 160 interactive training materials.

At the end of the master class, a trip to Baku Port will be organized for the participants and the official certificate of Antwerp International Port APEC International Training Center will be presented.
