Four Azerbaijani seamen, working in Mauritania upon the invitation of a foreign company, have appealed to the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco regarding the problems they faced in the country, spokesperson for Azerbaijan’s State Maritime Agency Tural Museyibov told Report.

“Given the impossibility of the sailors’ return to the country due to the border lockdowns in Azerbaijan and Mauritania amid coronavirus pandemic, necessary steps were taken to meet their daily needs and cover the hotel expenses. The State Maritime Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, and the State Committee on Work with Diaspora keep in regular contact with the sailors and take appropriate measures to eliminate their problems,” he said.

“The return of the seafarers will be ensured after the end of the quarantine regime,” Museyibov added.
