The foreign ministers of Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye have called for the immediate and full restoration of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Sea-news.az reports that this was stated in a joint declaration issued by the ministers following a quadrilateral meeting held in Istanbul.

The statement expressed opposition to restrictions imposed on commercial shipping and underscored the urgent need to restore safe, unimpeded transit for vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

The ministers also urged a diplomatic resolution to the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States in accordance with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. They highlighted the importance of preventing attacks on civilians and infrastructure, including maritime vessels, and avoiding any further escalation of tensions in the region.
