Kyrgyzstan aims to integrate its transportation system into international corridors and transform into a regional transport and logistics hub.
Sea-news.az reports citing the Kabar agency, that this was stated by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov during a national conference dedicated to strategic tasks for the next five years.
According to the head of state, full implementation of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project is planned to achieve this objective.
Additionally, the city of Balykchy will be transformed into a railway junction connecting the Balykchy–Tamchy–Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy–Kochkor–Kara-Keche–Makmal routes. The Makmal station will connect domestic and international routes.
The President emphasized that creating a unified transport space is a vital prerequisite for ensuring the country’s economic and territorial integrity: “This ensures the movement of citizens between various regions of the country and the transportation of cargo.”
