Qatar has urged Iran to cease attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and guarantee the safe movement of maritime vessels.

Sea-news.az informs, citing “Al Jazeera,” that this was stated by Ibrahim bin Sultan Ibrahim Al-Hashimi, Director of the Media and Communication Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Qatar.

According to him, Iran must comply with international maritime transport regulations and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The MOFA representative described Iran’s attacks as irresponsible, noting that they inflict harm on the region and its inhabitants.

Al-Hashimi emphasized the importance of resolving the crisis between the United States and Iran peacefully as quickly as possible. He stated that settling the matter at the negotiating table is the sole path to preserving regional security and stability.

He added that in recent days, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, discussed the situation with the Foreign Ministers of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, reaffirming support for diplomatic efforts to ensure freedom of navigation.
