Following the reinstatement of the naval blockade on Iran, the US Navy has intercepted 125 commercial vessels bound for Iranian ports and reportedly linked to the country.

Sea-news.az reports that this was announced by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to CENTCOM’s statement, as of September 30, the US Navy redirected these vessels to ensure compliance with established regulations.

It was noted that during the past seven days alone, the US military took control of 10 commercial vessels.

It worth recalling that on July 14, the US Navy re-imposed the naval blockade against vessels heading toward Iranian ports.

According to CENTCOM, during a similar maritime enforcement regime previously in effect from April 13 to June 18, US forces redirected 142 vessels and neutralized 9 vessels that failed to comply with established rules. Concurrently, over 50 vessels carrying humanitarian cargo were permitted passage.
