Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has discussed the establishment of a temporary shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Sea-news.az reports that this was stated in an official press release from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the statement, the talks focused on current issues regarding proposed phased steps, including the creation of a joint temporary navigation corridor in the Strait of Hormuz and a collaborative project to clear the waterway of mines.

Furthermore, the sides emphasized the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to reduce regional escalation and resolve differences through constructive dialogue.

This marked the Qatari Prime Minister’s first visit to Iran since February 1 of this year.
