The Palau-flagged dry cargo vessel Svetoslava encountered severe peril and a sinking risk off the coast of Turkey’s Kastamonu province.
Sea-news.az reports citing Oxu.Az, that the critical incident occurred in the waters off the Doganyurt district of Kastamonu. Due to the emergency situation onboard, the 13-member crew—which included Azerbaijani citizens—was forced to evacuate.
Thanks to the swift and decisive intervention of the Turkish Coast Guard, all crew members were safely rescued. According to preliminary reports, there were no injuries among the personnel. Further investigations regarding the exact cause of the incident and the current condition of the vessel are ongoing.
