Humanity at sea

Near Cedros Island in Mexico’s Baja California state, a fishing boat crew rescued a dog struggling for its life in the middle of the ocean and successfully reunited it with its owner.

Sea-news.az reports that this was shared on the Facebook page of Tag Cabo Sportfishing, a company specializing in fishing and marine excursions.

Setting off from the port around 06:00 in the morning, the crew of the fishing boat spotted a moving creature in the sea about a kilometer from the shore as the sun was rising. Upon approaching, they realized it was an exhausted, disoriented light-brown dog without a collar. The captain immediately turned off the engine, coaxed the animal toward the boat, and together with the crew, pulled it out of the water.

After receiving water, food, and first aid aboard the boat, the dog recovered and became the crew’s unexpected “member” throughout the several-hour trip. Upon returning to the Cedros Island dock, someone on the shore recognized the pet. Seeing its owner, the dog immediately ran over and safely returned home. Commenting on the incident on social media, Tag Cabo Sportfishing stated: “Sometimes the best catch of the day isn’t fish. We extend our deep respect to our captain for spotting it in time and intervening immediately.”
