Ten people have been rescued and one remains missing following an attack on a vessel off the eastern coast of the Sultanate of Oman.
According to sea-news.az citing the Asharq Al-Awsat publication, that the rescued individuals and the missing person are reportedly citizens of India.
The vessel was attacked amid ongoing mutual strikes between Iran and the United States. No information has been provided regarding the flag state of the ship.
According to the Indian Embassy in Oman, search and rescue operations are currently underway in coordination with the Omani side.
Previously, Iranian officials announced that they had opened warning fire on a vessel they claimed was navigating the route without authorization, and that a projectile had struck the ship.
