The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has launched a new online solution called “Eagle Croute” aimed at increasing the operational flexibility of container ships.

According to sea-news.az citing Seanews.az, the platform calculates acceleration reduction factors for container lashing forces based on the specific route, allowing operators to prepare stowage plans more efficiently.

According to the company, amid changing port routes, voyage cancellations, updated stowage plans, and geopolitical risks, the need for operators to make quick, informed decisions is growing. In this context, “Eagle Croute” offers more flexible loading options by evaluating cargo lashing forces for specific routes while ensuring compliance with safety requirements.

The system is also capable of calculating specific reduction factors for seasonal routes and short voyages lasting less than 72 hours, taking into account weather and wave forecasts. ABS states that these capabilities will help container ship operators organize voyage planning and cargo operations more effectively.
