The 13th session of the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR) was held at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London. Azerbaijan was represented at the event by Mazahir Niftiyev, Director of the Vessel Traffic Service Center of the State Maritime and Port Agency.
According to sea-news.az citing the State Maritime and Port Agency, discussions during the meeting covered a range of vital topics, including the organization of vessel traffic, ship routeing systems, the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), the development of Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) systems, search and rescue services, e-navigation, the application of digital technologies, and other current maritime issues.
It was noted that these discussions are of significant importance for further strengthening international maritime navigation, developing modern communication systems, and enhancing the regulatory framework of the International Maritime Organization.
