On July 1, 2026, the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy (ASMA) held its latest Scientific Council meeting. Chaired by Eldar Qocayev, Acting Rector of ADDA, the meeting focused on adopting important decisions regarding the alignment of management with international standards, strengthening internal control mechanisms, optimizing the teaching loads of administrative staff, and organizing student social and community activities.

According to sea-news.az citing ASMA, the meeting first addressed the implementation of the Quality Management System at the Academy, the results of the internal audit based on the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and the optimization of certain department structures as part of ongoing structural reforms. In this regard, decisions were made to update internal regulatory documents, translate key documentation into English, revise job descriptions to meet international requirements, and train new internal auditors.

Another key item on the agenda was the optimization of teaching loads for administrative staff. To enhance management efficiency, the administration was tasked with drafting relevant internal regulations, consulting with specialists from the Ministry of Science and Education, and ensuring a transparent distribution of vacant teaching hours.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on the preliminary results of surveys conducted among the student body, faculty, and administrative staff. To more effectively organize sports and social activities for students, decisions were made to approve an internal competition calendar, provide sports teams with necessary equipment and uniforms, and establish intellectual clubs with the active participation of student organizations.
