Azneft PU, a SOCAR structure on oil and gas production, and the American company Baker Hughes agreed to create a joint center in Azerbaijan for the assembly and maintenance of submersible electric submersible pumps (ESP), Report informs citing SOCAR.
“The signing ceremony of a Letter of Commitment to deploy Baker Hughes Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) technology and set up of a Joint Center of Excellence for the Assembly, Repair and Maintenance of the ESPs in the Azerbaijan took place in Baku, Azerbaijan,” the company said.
The agreement was signed between Carlo Beltrame, Caspian Area Director of Baker Hughes, and Ali Gurbanov, General Director of SOCAR`s Azneft PU.
“It was also agreed upon to enhance efficiency and increase production by optimizing processes across the entire production,” the company said.
Baker Hughes is one of the world’s leading oil and gas services companies. The company’s services include drilling, reserve assessment, field development, etc. The Houston-based company has 54,000 employees in more than 120 countries.
Electric centrifugal submersible pumps can be used in deep and inclined oil wells, and even horizontal ones, in heavily watered wells, in wells with iodine-bromide waters, with high salinity of formation waters, for lifting salty and acid solutions.
