Kazakh port of Kuryk increases cargo transshipment 15% since early year

The volume of cargo transshipment through the seaport of Kuryk for 10 months of 2023 amounted to over 1.8 million tons, which is 15% higher than in the same period last year, according to the press service of the national company Kazakhstan Railways, Report informs referring to Kazakh media.

The company noted that over 1.2 million tons were delivered to the port by rail, up 17% compared to the same period in 2022.

“The port handled about 600 ferries, over 16,500 wagons, more than 23,600 freight and passenger vehicles,” the company said in a statement.

Petroleum, chemical products, metal, consumer goods and more are transshipped through the port of Kuryk.

Imports include food products, industrial equipment, construction materials and other goods. Equipment, electronics, textiles, chemical and metal products are in transit through the port.
