Over the first 9 months of 2023, the volume of liquefied natural gas supplies from Russia to the EU increased significantly, Report informs via the Izvestia newspaper.

Spain and Belgium increased their purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia by 50% compared to last year. Thus, Spain imported 5.21 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia, while Belgium imported 3.14 billion cubic meters. The share of Russian fuel in the LNG imports of these countries was 26.5% and 37.2%, respectively.

Europe cannot completely abandon Russian energy resources due to logistical advantages, as well as the lack of available alternatives.
