The ship fleet of the Azerbaijani Navy will be renewed, and new reconnaissance systems will be purchased, the Commander of the Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Subhan Bakirov said, Report informs.
According to him, meetings are currently being held with leading companies in the defense industry on the renewal of the ship fleet, and the acquisition of surveillance, reconnaissance and communications systems: “Some of these projects will soon be implemented in stages.”
“The Navy is successfully implementing the requirements of the Maritime Security Strategy approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and according to the training plan approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, they adequately cope with all tasks,” he stressed.
