A RoRo vessel “Composer Fikrat Amirov” owned by “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO) has been overhauled.
The underwater and above-water parts, main deck, and mechanisms of the vessel were cleaned and painted within the framework of repairs carried out by “Zygh” Ship Repair and Construction Yard.
Moreover, main engines, coolers, pumps and other mechanisms have also been repaired and two auxiliary engines replaced.
In addition to the hull welding, piping, automation and electrical installation work on the vessel, repairs were carried out on the auxiliary steam boiler and auxiliary boiler.
Modern type communication and navigation equipment such as “Inmarsat-C” satellite communication terminals, medium/short-wave radio station, stationary ultrashort radios, emergency radio beacons, emergency rescue radio stations and transmitters, Automatic Identification System (AIS), radio location units, NAVTEX device, gyrocompass were installed on board the vessel.
Moreover, passenger cabins, seafarers’ service and accommodation rooms were repaired in compliance with modern requirements.
Having successfully passed sea trials, the vessel “Composer Fikrat Amirov” has now been put back into operation.
The first voyage of the vessel is planned to the Turkmenbashi port of Turkmenistan upon completion of repair works.
