The FESCO transport group has launched a new FESCO Trans China Railway intermodal container service from Japan to Uzbekistan through the territory of China and Kazakhstan.
As the company informed SeaNews, the service includes sea delivery from the port of Yokohama (Japan) to the port of Lianyungang (China, Jiangsu province). Then the containers follow the Trans China Railway, which connects China with Kazakhstan. At the Khorgos-Altynkol border crossing, containers are reloaded onto 1520 gauge rolling stock and from there they are delivered to their destination – Chukursai station in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
The frequency of dispatches is twice a month. The main cargo to be transported under the new FESCO service will be car parts from Japan.
The first batch of 18 40-foot containers shipped from the port of Yokohama is currently at the Kazakh-Chinese logistics terminal in Lianyungang. The departure of containers by rail is scheduled for September 30
