Position – İnspection Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental protection (HSE) standards, statutory requirements, operating rules, institution procedures.
• Accepting and performing work safety measures while working, taking the necessary materials and spare parts from the warehouse, using the materials in place, correctly and economically, informing the supervisor about the situations beyond his authority.
• Assist, monitor and carry out inspections of materials or equipment available in warehouses, workshops of the Oil Refinary Plant.
• To perform tasks deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor within the framework of HSE regulations, in accordance with work permit procedures. To constantly improve oneself in various spheres related to quality control, to demonstrate success in training, to care for safe, high quality, error-free work in accordance with work authorization documents.
• Responding to calls from the supervisor in case of emergency or force majeure outside working hours, staying overtime if necessary.
• Monitor, plan and implement work defined in inspection test plans (ITP) of static equipment (heat exchangers, furnaces, reactors, columns, drums, pipes, etc.) in the possesion of the refinery. To give an initial opinion on the need for repair of the equipment, to inform the technical control engineer about the results of the inspection and test, and to create a technical control report.
• Non-destructive testing, thermal treatment, hydrostatic testing, painting, sandblasting, etc., performed by quality control technicians, other relevant refinery departments or contracted external organizations. Track and report activities. Perform non-destructive testing (PT, MPI, UT, PMI, RT, VT) as required, record results, report and forward to quality control engineer.
• Arrange pre- and post-repair inspection of static equipment and piping by quality control engineers by visual inspection or pre-defined non-destructive method in accordance with a written work method based on international standards and internal rules and procedures and report the results.
• Supervise pilot tests and calibrations of safety valves as required by the Quality Control Engineer
Organize the maintenance, use and protection of control and measuring, testing, inspection equipment and devices in accordance with the rules. Inform the quality control engineer about the validity and defects of the calibration periods of instruments and equipment
• To decide the work according to the weekly plans prepared by the quality control department, to carry out the division of work of the subordinate technicians, to monitor the work performed by the technicians and to take the necessary steps for the quality of the work.
• Ensure subordinate quality control technicians perform work in according with international standards, build team spirit, share experiences and contribute to the development of new technicians and report to supervisor on self-development of employees.
• Fulfill the requirements of the current legislation, internal rules and procedures, international standards and guidelines related to the work for which he is responsible.
• Reporting to his subordinate engineer regarding the daily quality control activities carried out in the field.
• To act in accordance with the company’s policy, mission, corporate values, as well as the company’s ethical rules, internal procedures, instructions, strategies and goals; Inform the relevant departments when any inconsistency is found within the company on these matters.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

To be a successful candidate you will be required to:

• To be physically and psychologically healthy to work in an enclosed space, at a height, in a harmful environment within the limits of HSE regulations.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the relevant field.
• Know the working principle and inspection of static equipment such as heat exchangers, furnaces, reactors, columns, drums, tubes, etc.
• Mechanical vocational training in the repair and maintenance of engines or pressure equipment is desirable.
• English is desirable.
• One or more EN9712 NDT – UT, MPI, LPT, RT level 2 or 3 certifications.
• CSWIP 3.1 – Welding Inspector certification is desirable.
• NACE CIP Level 2 – paint and insulation certification is desirable.
