Position: Engineering Manager
Job Description:
Accountable for Engineering Integrity and Assurance on behalf of the WGPSN contract.
WGPSN Contract Engineering Technical Process Owner
WGPSN Management performance of direct reports of Engineering Lead Personnel.
Ensuring competence of Engineering Team.
Manages succession planning and delivery on behalf of the Contract.
Ensures the setting & maintaining standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people.
Assist in the Management of recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet Engineering team requirements
Continuous promotion of Corporate / Client specific Procedures.
Lead and advise on Technical Audits and Investigations as required.
Represent WGPSN Disciplines.
Setting performance expectations for direct reports.
Actively maintain own competence and continuous development.
Identifying & Requesting functional support to the project/contract as required.
Roll out & Implementation of learning opportunities from across the business.
Conduit for regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments.
Deputising for Regional Engineering Director / Head of Engineering.
Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective team.Executing assigned business objectives.
Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively.
Work Experience:
20 yrs Oil and Gas Experience in Brownfield Engineering and Management
Education:
Degree qualification in relevant subject
Or
HNC or equivalent
Incorporated Registered Engineer with extensive relevant experience
Chartered Manager or equivalent with a recognised Professional Body
Essential Skills:
Management expertise at Engineering, Project Management and Business Management Level.
Experience in engineering, construction, project management at a Design, Engineering and Management level in engineering discipline and projects
Specialist knowledge in application of WGPSN processes, standards and specifications applicable to Oil and Gas legislation and standards.
Capable of representing WGPSN and Client to business associates at a Senior Management Level
Good Communication skills, providing Leadership to the contract.
Understanding of Techncial Assurance Governance Proceses and applications at a senior level.
Experience of Concept, FEED, Detail Design and Close Out to WGPSN and industry practices.
Demonstratable balance of practical industry (design and fabrication/construction) experience and management experience in Oil and Gas
Experience in development and managment of technical procedures and management system procesess.
Experience in WGPSN project start up , overseas working and BP specific processes
Experience of engineering multidiscipline, construction, third party and client interfaces.
Working knowledge of Design systems and CAD applications.
