The first oil production as part of the next phase of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) megastructure in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is scheduled for the end of 2023, Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, BP vice-president for the Caspian region, told journalists, Report informs.

He said that by the end of the year it is planned to complete the construction of the Azeri Central East (ACE) platform, and by the end of next year to open wells and start oil production.

The sailing of the support block of the ACE production platform is scheduled for the second half of this year, presumably August-September.

The new platform will be able to extend the ACG production plateau and keep it relatively stable.

Investments in the project will amount to $6 billion. It includes the construction of a new offshore production platform and facilities designed to produce up to 100,000 barrels per day.

It is expected that over the entire period of operation, production from this platform will be up to 300 million barrels. The new platform will be integrated with the existing infrastructure.
