Position: Base Operations Manager
Main Purpose of Role:
Accountable for the safe, effective and efficient operation of a 27Hectacre Marine Supply Base in Azerbaijan which supports bp’s offshore operation. Act as Site Controller and On Scene Commander with daily responsibility for the safety and well-being of over 300 personnel.
Management and responsibility of several key functions including but not limited to:
- Shorebased Logistics, Transportation, CCU’s and Quayside Management
- OCTG Pipe Yard Storage, Materials Management and Warehousing
- Plant & Facilities Maintenance and Diesel Tank Farm Operation
Prime Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for all operational activities pertaining to SPS Supply Base (New, Old Base and SPS Quayside);
- Leading, coaching and continually developing the workforce thus helping to achieve best in class standards;
- Act as an operational focal point and liaise with relevant client and company representatives and ensure all known requirements are actioned in a timely manner and any late call offs, changes to planned activities are executed as instructed, effectively and safely;
- Ensure safe, efficient and effective support is provided to all site operations as required;
- Ensure strict compliance is maintained across all Supply Base and Quayside operations with regards to client and company QHSE policies, standards, procedures and SSOW;
- Perform Site Controller duties across all SPS Sites;
- Act as primary site focal point/on-scene commander in the event of any incidents, accidents or emergency situations/drills;
- Support company in identifying new business opportunities and/or initiatives;
- Provide relevant KPI statistical data as required by company management;
- Demonstrate a high level of safety leadership;
- Chair the weekly Supply Base Operations Meeting, following up on all identified actions;
- Providing self-verification and contractor oversight and participate in QHSE audits;
- Monitoring and prevention of unsafe situations;
- Ensuring that all safety rules and procedures are followed and conform to the professional standards prescribed by the company;
- Ensure work is conducted within all applicable Legislative, Bos Shelf Safety Management System and Client safe system of work;
- Carry out any other tasks as reasonably required by company management;
- Stop any unsafe work using your obligation to ‘Stop the job’.
Requirements:
Educational background –
- Management or Logistics Degree/Diploma or Equivalent
Technical qualifications –
- Over 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas Logistics
- Safety Leadership Based Training eg IOSH, NEBOSH would be advantageous
- Knowledgeable in Control of Work, Permit to Work Best Practice
