July 1 marks as the 50th anniversary of the commissioning of the Baku Maritime Station building, which is considered an integral attribute of the seaside Baku boulevard.

The foundation of the building was laid in 1970 by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The building built in the avant-garde style by outstanding architects like Akhundov, Shulhin and Orlova-Stroganova, still remains as a symbol of a great architecture and part of the history of the city. The marine station facilitated the trade relations with neighboring Caspian ports, the transportation of the offshore oil field workers, and witnessed incidents of the January 20 tragedy.

As “Baku International Sea Trade Port” CJSC, we are taking appropriate measures to preserve this building and operate in accordance with the modern standards of the 21st century.
