SOCAR Ukraine obtains license for gas supplies

    The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities of Ukraine issued licenses to the “Trade house of SOCAR Ukraine” LLC and Gastron-Ukraine LLC to carry out economic activities for the supply of natural gas to Ukraine.

    The corresponding decision was made at the meeting of the commission on June 29. “Ukrtransgaz” PJSC will not be able to accept applications for transportation of gas from companies that do not have a license, starting from July 1. To date, such licenses have been issued to 239 companies.

    SOCAR is represented in Ukraine by a subsidiary – SOCAR Energy Ukraine.

    The main activity of SOCAR Energy Ukraine is to improve the network of petrol filling stations and organize wholesale of petrol and oil products in the territory of Ukraine.

    SOCAR opened its representation in Ukraine in 2008.  The company continues to steadily develop its filling stations network both in the capital of Ukraine and other regions.

    Currently, the company has 60 filling stations in Ukraine.

    At present, SOCAR is the only producer of petroleum products in the country, and operates more than 370 petrol stations in Switzerland, Georgia, Romania and Ukraine.
