As part of the ongoing investigation into the shipwreck off the coast of Girne, Northern Cyprus, the detention period for 9 suspects has been extended by another week.
Sea-news.az reports that details were published in the Turkish media.
The next court hearing is scheduled to take place on October 30.
It should be noted that the high-speed passenger vessel “Filo Jet”, operating between Girne and the Taşucu Port in Türkiye’s Mersin province, sank shortly after departure on August 30. Azerbaijani citizens were also among the passengers on board the sunken ferry. As part of the investigation launched into the incident, nine individuals were arrested, three of whom are Azerbaijani nationals.
