Iran may soon completely close the Strait of Hormuz to vessels violating the maritime transit rules established by Tehran.

Sea-news.az reports to Reuters, citing Iranian officials, Tehran has intensified the severity of its attacks on non-compliant ships and plans to expand its area of operations.

Officials stated the objective is to prevent a drop in global oil prices and exert leverage over US political developments. US military sources report that following the destruction of much of its radar infrastructure, Iran has begun utilizing small observation boats to relay target coordinates directly to the IRGC. Meanwhile, the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) has raised the threat level for commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz to “Critical”—the second highest level in its assessment system.
