Three fishermen were injured when an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck a fishing boat off the coast of southern Iran’s Hormozgan province.
Sea-news.az reports citing Reuters and local governorate authorities, the incident occurred approximately 18 nautical miles off the village of Bondaran in the Sirik district.
Three crew members sustained severe injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The United States routinely conducts reconnaissance drone operations over the Persian Gulf and has previously targeted facilities used to disrupt maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
