The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) aims to turn the Middle Corridor into a competitive route, the President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, Nataliya Kiselova, said at the plenary session of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly held in Baku, Report informs.
According to Kiselova, it is planned to create a hub in the Black Sea: “This will allow the transportation of energy resources that will connect Europe and Central Asia through the South Caucasus. The location of the sea hub has not yet been determined, but the European Union expresses its full support for it. The participation of Azerbaijan and Armenia in this project should also be ensured.”
“This corridor [Middle Corridor] provides a connection between Central Asia and Europe for 15 days. The Middle Corridor is the main alternative route by land. Moreover, this corridor bypasses Russia. Against the background of the current geopolitical conditions, this corridor gains special importance.”
