From January to June 2025, the Baku International Sea Trade Port handled 3,930,521 tons of cargo, marking a 6.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024, Report writes, citing Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
Container throughput also saw a sharp rise. The number of TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) processed in the first half of the year exceeded 53,030 units, a 71.8% increase year-over-year.
For comparison, in the first half of 2024, the port handled 3,695,910 tons of cargo and processed 30,869 TEUs.
